It's still quite cold where I live or let me say it is usually cold in the mornings. I can barely leave the house without throwing on a light outer wear and I really look forward to warmer weather. My favorite outerwear to wear at this time of the year is trench coat. They are just so versatile and chic. I threw this blue piece over an old denim dress previously styled here and completed the look with a pair of black boots with cute sculptural heel design and a monogrammed denim Guess Bag, all old pieces from my closet.
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know by now that I need not say where I purchased my trench coat from because you already know. Yes, 80% of my outer wear is pre-loved or thrifted. I got this trench coat for less than $20 from a local thrift store. My state, Minnesota is a very cold state so it's easy to find items like coats and blazers of great quality and price at pre-loved or thrift stores. I found a somewhat similar color trench coat on Amazon but I don't know about the quality though.
Trench coats are trending at the moment especially denim trench coats and also denim dresses. I am glad that this denim dress I have had for years still fits but it's a little snug now and that's okay. If anything, I hope you are inspired by this post to keep wearing all the items in your closet and only donate them when they are worn or undersized. Fashion trends are cyclical, and trends and pieces just keep circling back after a few years. I hope you are also inspired to thrift and consider sustainability when it comes to shopping.
