Holiday Outfit Inspiration: Mustard color sweater + Sequin Pants

 

      

        A  holiday outfit can be styled without incorporating the traditional holiday colors. As we all know, red and green are traditional Christmas colors in addition to black and silver when it comes to styling sequins and other embellished and beaded outfits. In the recent years however, holiday outfits are now any color you want them to be and sequin pieces can be purchased in almost every color nowadays. I styled this gold sequin wide legged trousers from Lulus with a mustard color sweater to create a non traditional holiday look.

Brown Pantsuit + Square toe Sandals

                                                                           

        I love pantsuits a lot and I think I have them in every color by now. This light brown set is my latest addition and as usual, I decided to style a monochrome look. I wore this outfit to Church a few Sundays ago; the square toe Sandals and faux fur bags added some interest to the monochromatic look. I always say; "texture-mixing" is the key to styling a monochrome look because without the bag and woven sandals, this outfit would be totally boring. Animal Print Dress + Green Sandals

        Animal prints is usually a big trend in the Fall season but not so this season. Somehow, the styling of the prints moved from main clothing pieces like tops and bottoms to accessories like boots and bags and sometimes statement coats. This H&M animal print dress was love at first sight for me because the print is very subtle. I styled it with a pair of green sandals and white pouch bag. Summer Style: Lace dress + Straw Bag

 

        My obsession with lace dresses this past Summer was real however these dresses have just been laying low in the closet all these years and not new purchases. Since this past summer was really hot, it was a no brainer to live in these dresses. This piece right here was purchased about three Summers ago from Boohoo.. I styled it with an orange color scarf and a pair of crisscross mules and a straw bag which is always my favorite accessory in the Summer. There is just something about straw bags and accessories that make summer outfits pop. Scarfs have also become my favorite accessory too. Thanks so much for reading.

Monochrome Look: Brown top + Satin skirt

        This is an old look from the archives, and it is a monochrome look as usual which has really been my favorite way of styling in recent times. The brown top is a panty suit which is very great for work wear; you tuck in and stay tucked in all day without any fuss. Again, the mix of textures is the best way to style a monochrome look so the outfit don't look like a uniform or boring. How to style colors for Fall

       There is a sure way to add colors to a Fall outfit and that's by the use of colorful accessories. Sure, we all like to wear rich jewel tone colors like wine, browns, orange and greys in the fall and lots of animal print but just imagine pairing these colors with pops of pink and blue and a little bit of yellow? The result will be an outfit that lifts up the spirit like the one above. And the blue sandals can be swapped out for a pair of brown boots if you so choose. Happy viewing, happy styling.

        Polka dots pieces are essentials in a closet in my opinion. The print is a classic and never goes out of style. Every spring and summer, polka dots prints emerge on the fashion scene and what differentiates it from one season to the next, is the way that it is styled. A polka dots dress is the piece you need when you need to add some interest to your wardrobe. The dress that stole my heart this season is this Monique Lhuillier dress here and here. 'So, so gorgeous! 😍

 My dress that I am wearing in this post was purchased from Boohoo a couple of summers ago. I styled it with a pair of black square toed sandals from Ego Shoes, an online shoe store that sells a lot of inspired dupes and variations of luxury shoes. The quality and price point of their shoes is great for fast fashion if you want to get into a trend without spending a lot of money. Pink Pantsuit + Pink bow blouse

 

       It's no secret that I love pantsuits and blazers. I just love the versatility in styling and wear. I like that pantsuits can be worn as one outfit, the blazer can be paired with other pieces and the pant can be styled with other pieces in my closet too. So, you always save a lot of money when you buy a two piece suit especially if you love corporate style. 

I styled this hot pink pantsuit to wear to Church weeks ago; paired the suit with a pink bow blouse I purchased from Zara a while back and square toe Sandals. I really love the bold pink color and big bow on this blouse and I look forward to styling it with jeans and a pair of slides next time. My styling is always so simple and I hope you think so too. How to style: Vacation Dress + Fendi Tote

        I fell in love with this Fendi tote the very first time I saw it online but the price is quite steep so I can only admire it from afar. It is a bag for someone that is consistently on the move especially if you travel a lot; the perfect vacation bag I would say. I am of the opinion that it is not appropriate to splurge on a designer bag and just let it collect dust in the closet. Blue lace Dress + how to style

       This Summer is one of the hottest so far on record; at least, in the state of Minnesota and one of the ways I have been keeping cool is by wearing lace dresses. I have a stash of lace dresses that I reserved for weddings, baby dedication and baby showers (because in my Nigerian culture, lace is a fabric that is mostly used in the making of special event attire and outfits called "Aso-ebi") which I turned into weekend dresses this summer.

        I know we are in the middle of Summer, and it might seem a little too late to make a Summer Wish list but this is actually wish list #3 and different from wish list #2 here and wish list #1 here. The items on this list are from Fashionova and DSW respectively. I have always regarded Fashionova as a lingerie store because of their "barely there, almost naked" kind of clothing but decided to browse through the site anyway during the 4th of July sale to see if I could come up with some modest pieces.

           White color outfits or bright color dresses are the best when it comes to beating the summer heat along with natural fabrics. The heat in Minnesota has been on a high intensity and all my white color outfits are now at the front of my closet. I wore this flared ruffle hem dress recently and styled it with just neutral accessories; one of my favorite way of styling whites. What to wear to a Summer Wedding: Red lace Dress

 

       I have always loved lace dresses and I think I love them mostly for the texture they bring to a lady's wardrobe. The styling of a lace dress is also very versatile. You can wear as is or you can throw a blazer over them too. Lace dresses are also great to wear to weddings or special events like dinners or baby showers. I got this red lace dress from Lulus years ago and it's still one of my favorite lace dresses.      This Chloe Sandals is one of the most  unique and chic summer sandals I have seen in a while. I love the originality of the design with the bold graphics and brown sole. It looks very chic when paired with casual style and it's indeed a "take me to vacation" slides/sandals. I do have a love-hate affair with the sandals though because the design also reminds me of a cast on an ankle or foot; haha! 😂 

Vacation Style: Brown tiered Dress + Summer Bag

       Vacation style equals simple and effortless style. You do not want to fuss over your outfits when you are on vacation. My go to style is always a dress. A dress is the most versatile piece in your vacation wardrobe because underneath the dress, you can wear your bikini or one-piece swimsuit if you are going to be on the beach. I purchased this dress on sale from JCPenney and I just love the color and tiered style.
