There is something about cold weather and plaid for me that I really cannot explain. When the temperature starts to drop at the start of the fall/autumn season, I get the longing to add this particular print to my wardrobe. The entrance of the shirt jacket "aka" Shacket (Shirt-Jacket) into the fashion scene this season, is another reason why I love this print. If you must know, the shirt jacket has been around for ages as men's wear and it slowly got into women's fashion recently. I loved this H&M piece a lot but it quickly sold out and since I really wanted to try out the trend, I decided to go thrifting for it and sure enough, I found a few pieces to add to my wardrobe this season.
This red plaid jacket has become one of my favorite light jackets to throw on when I need to do some quick errands like dashing to the mail box to get my mail and I have even worn it out on not so cold days. It has a good lining and with good layering pieces underneath, can stand alone as a winter jacket. I paired it with my red plaid pumps for a dressy, casual look then, totally dressed it down with a pair of combat boots. The casual look with the combat boots is very appropriate for outings like going to a sports game while the more dressy look with the pumps is suitable for a casual outing with girl friends or the hubs. I do not think this shirt jacket trend would be around for long though. For now, I'm happy I was able to get this thrifted piece. Check out the other piece I thrifted
here. If you want to indulge in this trend, check out the men's section at your local thrift store first before going to any retail store. Thanks so much for reading.
