What to wear to a Summer Wedding

Summer weddings are very fun and colorful and dressing up for one should be a breeze; think colorful dresses in florals or solid colors and fun accessories. I attended a Marriage Anniversary/Vow Renewal on Saturday and it was my first wedding event of the season; I usually attend a couple of weddings every year (no pun intended with *couple* 😊) It was a beautiful outdoor/garden ceremony with lots of beautiful guests and the reception was indoors. My next wedding invitation is scheduled for early fall so the outfit for that would definitely have a different vibe and color scheme. I cannot express how much I love weddings; they are always so beautiful and special; big or small.

For this wedding, I chose to wear this magenta, somewhat purplish color dress I purchased recently.  The dress was listed as an off shoulder dress but I chose to wear it as a cowl neck dress and I love how it turned out. The fit and quality of the dress is great and I loved the comfy feel of the fabric against my skin. This dress is currently on sale  if you want to check it out. I paired it with florals; a floral clutch and floral embellished sandals blogged about here and previously worn here. I just like that the sandals go with most pieces in my closet. The love bracelet is a gift I got from Victorias Secret years ago during one of their bi-annual promotion/campaign. The colorful fashion earrings from Shein completed the entire outfit which is very simple but fun.


So, when you are picking an outfit for a summer wedding; just think "colors" and "florals" and "accessories." If you decide to incorporate all three into your outfit, just keep each simple or you can choose to make one a statement piece while you keep everything else simple. 


For example, If you plan on wearing big statement jewelry, wear a simple or plain outfits that would highlight your pieces. The key though is not to go to a wedding or any event as a "Show-offey" (show-off) guest but rather as a fun, well dressed guest. Your outfit should add to the beauty of the event, and not be a distraction. Thanks so much for reading.
