Happy New Year: Blue Sequin Dress + Glitter heels

Happy New Year Friends 😁 It's 2019! I had a beautiful New Year celebration and I'm also well rested. My hubs and I and the kids did a lot of bonding during the holidays; we watched movies together, cooked together, went out to eat and just spent quality time together. We also had an amazing dinner at a restaurant on Christmas day to celebrate my son's birthday. I'm going to make this first Post of the year very short because I do not have new year resolutions. Like I said in my previous post, I just want to be a better me in the new year. I want to love God more, love my family more and love people more. My main change is going to be on the blog as I plan to share more life style posts. I also plan to shop less from now henceforth and to spend more time exploring ways of creating affordable and glamorous looks from pieces that I already own. I want to do more of DIYs and other kinds of creative styling and I hope to share all on here.

This outfit is one of the several outfits I planned for the New Year; very appropriate for date night with the hubs.  The outfit is part old pieces from my closet and part new pieces. The dress is an old purchase from T.J. Maxx that I have had for years and even blogged about here. I actually dug out the dress from my closet  a few weeks before Christmas after I saw this pair of glitter pumps online. I knew both pieces were going to make for great pairing and the shoes were on sale so I got them. The shoes are inspired by this Jimmy Choos glitter pumps here and the quality and fit is really great for the price. Although the heels look beautiful , I decided to embellish it further by adding shoe clips to them and I ordered this pair from Amazon and attached them to the shoes and I love how they turned out. It was actually my first time of using shoe clips and though it was a very simple DIY, I'll put up a post about the DIY some time in the future. I completed the look with simple faux pearl earrings and a glitter clutch also an old purchase from T.J. Maxx.
